Membership Requirements
- Attendance is expected at all meetings with a minimum of 5 per school year (either am or pm)
- Meetings take place on the 1st Thursday of each month and will last 30 minutes. You must stay entire time.
Dates: 9/6, 10/4, 11/1, 12/6, 1/10*, 2/7, 3/7, 4/11, 5/2
*Induction of new members will be held at our morning meeting on 1/10
- 3.5 or higher GPA
- One semester of probation is allowed one time if GPA drops below 3.5
- No ISS (in-school suspension) or OSS (out-of-school suspension) infractions
- 10 hours of community service completed by 5/3/19
- Service must be through a school or church / non-political, non-profit organization (no “for profit” organization or “work for free” allowed, i.e. no babysitting or lawn work for a neighbor, no filing for a local business or clean-up for neighborhood HOA, etc.)
- If you choose to tutor, it must be done through an approved school program (HHS, LMS, Still, Dowell)
- Hours served for one club may not count toward another club (i.e. 1 hour of service cannot count for both NHS and Beta)
- No hours carry over from one year to the next, but summer hours can count toward the following school year
- Service form must be used to document hours (letter head from a church or school is fine as well)—see Beta blog linked to Mrs. Kucera’s blog.
- Yearly dues paid and contract returned by 10/19/18: $25 new members / $15 returning members. You can pay exact cash or check made payable to Hillgrove High School—check amount may not exceed $25 so siblings please use separate checks.
- All students participating in MOWR/Dual Enrollment or who have graduated early are allowed on campus and expected to attend all club meetings to fulfill their requirements
- All students must attend a minimum of 5 yearly meetings unless:
- MOWR or early graduates enrolled in college classes that meet in both AM and PM time slots that conflict with Beta meetings
- Students must provide documentation of enrollment and exact class schedule as soon as possible, but no later than 5/3/19
- If enrolled in classes that conflict with both AM & PM meetings for one semester, then you must attend a minimum of 3 Beta meetings for the year
- If enrolled in classes that conflict with both AM & PM meetings for both semesters, then your meeting requirement may be waived
- If enrolled in classes at a university out of state for one semester, then you must attend a minimum of 3 Beta meetings for the year
- If enrolled in classes at a university out of state for both semesters, then your meeting requirement may be waived
- Early graduates hired for full-time employment of 40 or more hours per week
